A64939 A review and examination of a book bearing the title of The history of the indulgence wherein the lawfulness of the acceptance of the peaceable exercise of the ministry granted by the Acts of the magistrates indulgence is demonstrated, contrary objections answered, and the vindication of such as withdraw from hearing indulged ministers is confuted : to which is added a survey of the mischievous absurdities of the late bond and Sanquhair declaration. it_o if_o such_o youth_n blow_v up_o with_o the_o wind_n of_o popular_a applause_n fall_v into_o many_o snare_n and_o take_v course_n that_o tend_v to_o bring_v all_o thing_n sacred_a and_o civil_a the_o magistrate_n ought_v to_o grant_v to_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n liberty_n to_o exercise_v their_o ministry_n peaceable_o and_o therefore_o such_o a_o grant_n of_o liberty_n etc._n their_o know_a and_o profess_a judgement_n now_o see_v they_o declare_v their_o continuance_n in_o their_o know_a judgement_n and_o adherence_n to_o their_o former_a principle_n and_o that_o to_o the_o magistrate_n and_o have_v declare_v before_o their_o resolution_n to_o behave_v as_o faithful_a minister_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o they_o believe_v the_o account_n they_o be_v to_o give_v of_o their_o ministry_n to_o jesus_n christ_n they_o do_v show_v to_o the_o magistrate_n that_o they_o do_v not_o nor_o can_v not_o approve_v of_o power_n or_o act_n of_o the_o magistrate_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o their_o judgement_n for_o that_o have_v be_v so_o far_o from_o become_v the_o faithfulness_n of_o the_o minister_n of_o jesus_n christ_n that_o it_o can_v not_o consist_v with_o presbyterial_a government_n and_o set_v up_o of_o prelacy_n and_o other_o act_n contrary_a to_o presbyterial_a principle_n some_o whereof_o i_o mention_v before_o this_o opposition_n be_v clear_o
