a_o prill_v .2_o 1655._o a_o act_n for_o continue_v the_o jurisisdiction_n of_o the_o court_n of_o admiralty_n vide_fw-la voll_n 10_o fol._n 3_o single_a sheet_n a_o act_n concern_v the_o new_a invention_n of_o melt_v down_o iron_n and_o other_o metal_n with_o stone-coal_n and_o other_o coal_n without_o chark_v thereof_o whereas_o jeremy_n buck_n of_o minchinhampton_n in_o the_o county_n of_o gloucester_n esq_n by_o a_o new_a invention_n do_v undertake_v to_o melt_v or_o cause_v to_o be_v melt_v down_o iron_n lead_v tin_n copper_n brass_n and_o other_o metal_n with_o stone-coal_n pit-coal_n or_o sea-coal_n without_o chark_v thereof_o be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o this_o present_a parliament_n and_o by_o the_o authority_n thereof_o that_o the_o say_v jeremy_n buck_n his_o executor_n administrator_n and_o assign_v and_o such_o as_o he_o or_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o by_o write_v under_o his_o their_o or_o any_o of_o their_o hand_n and_o seal_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n appoint_v and_o none_o other_o shall_v and_o may_v use_v exercise_n and_o enjoy_v the_o art_n skill_n and_o mystery_n of_o melt_v down_o iron_n oare_n and_o cinder_n into_o raw_a iron_n and_o of_o other_o oar_n and_o metal_n with_o stone-coal_n pit-coal_n or_o sea-coal_n without_o chark_v thereof_o and_o the_o sole_a and_o only_a benefit_n of_o his_o new_a invention_n aforesaid_a for_o and_o during_o the_o term_n of_o fourteen_o year_n from_o the_o first_o day_n of_o march_n in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n god_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o and_o fifty_o and_o that_o no_o person_n or_o person_n body_n politic_a or_o corporate_a whatsoever_o shall_v make_v use_n of_o the_o say_v new_a invention_n within_o the_o commonwealth_n of_o england_n or_o any_o the_o dominion_n thereof_o during_o the_o say_a time_n of_o fourteen_o year_n provide_v always_o and_o it_o be_v hereby_o declare_v and_o enact_v that_o all_o and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n may_v use_v such_o way_n and_o work_n for_o melt_a down_o any_o iron_n oare_n sinder_n or_o other_o metal_n as_o they_o now_o use_v or_o have_v heretofore_o lawful_o use_v to_o do_v or_o any_o other_o way_n or_o work_n hereafter_o by_o they_o new_o to_o be_v invent_v so_o as_o they_o make_v not_o use_v of_o the_o say_v new_a invention_n of_o he_o the_o say_v jeremy_n buck._n and_o it_o be_v further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o person_n offend_v against_o this_o act_n for_o every_o day_n wherein_o such_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v shall_v forfeit_v and_o lose_v to_o the_o say_v jeremy_n buck_n his_o executor_n administrator_n and_o assign_v respective_o the_o sum_n of_o ten_o pound_n in_o the_o name_n of_o a_o pain_n or_o penalty_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o the_o say_v jeremy_n buck_n his_o executor_n administrator_n and_o assign_v by_o action_n of_o debt_n to_o be_v ground_v upon_o this_o act_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n within_o this_o commonwealth_n where_o any_o action_n of_o debt_n now_o do_v or_o shall_v hereafter_o be_v tryable_a together_o with_o damage_n for_o nonpayment_n thereof_o and_o cost_v of_o suit_n in_o which_o action_n of_o debt_n or_o for_o the_o stay_n whereof_o no_o essoin_fw-fr wager_n of_o law_n protection_n or_o injunction_n or_o any_o other_o mean_n of_o delay_n shall_v or_o may_v be_v grant_v admit_v or_o allow_v provide_v also_o that_o the_o say_v jeremy_n buck_n and_o his_o assign_v after_o seven_o year_n of_o the_o term_n hereby_o grant_v do_v and_o shall_v take_v apprentice_n and_o teach_v they_o the_o knowledge_n and_o mystery_n of_o the_o say_v new_a invention_n die_v mercurii_n 2_o aprilis_n 1651._o order_v by_o the_o parliament_n that_o this_o act_n be_v forthwith_o print_v and_o publish_v hen_n scobell_n cleric_n parliamenti_fw-la london_n print_v by_o john_n field_n printer_n to_o the_o parliament_n of_o england_n 1651._o
