money_n or_o any_o thing_n else_o since_o his_o discharge_n from_o that_o service_n towards_o satisfaction_n of_o the_o arrear_n claim_v thereupon_o and_o how_o much_o have_v be_v so_o receive_v and_o in_o the_o same_o oath_n he_o shall_v also_o discover_v whether_o he_o have_v at_o any_o time_n receive_v any_o other_o money_n or_o good_n for_o or_o under_o pretence_n of_o the_o public_a service_n for_o which_o to_o his_o best_a knowledge_n or_o remembrance_n he_o ought_v to_o be_v and_o yet_o remain_v accountable_a to_o the_o state_n and_o for_o such_o money_n or_o good_n if_o he_o have_v not_o already_o account_v he_o shall_v then_o discharge_v himself_o by_o a_o true_a account_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o which_o account_n he_o shall_v make_v oath_n in_o such_o form_n as_o hereafter_o follow_v viz._n i_o a._n b._n do_v swear_v that_o the_o account_n by_o i_o give_v in_o at_o this_o time_n be_v true_a and_o just_a to_o the_o best_a of_o my_o knowledge_n and_o remembrance_n and_o that_o therein_o i_o have_v not_o witting_o conceal_v any_o money_n or_o good_n which_o to_o my_o best_a remembrance_n i_o have_v receive_v or_o take_v for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o parliament_n or_o commonwealth_n for_o which_o i_o be_o just_o accompatble_a to_o the_o state_n neither_o have_v i_o to_o my_o best_a remembrance_n wilful_o imbezelled_a or_o to_o my_o private_a use_n or_o benefit_n convert_v any_o such_o money_n or_o good_n receive_v by_o i_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o public_a and_o for_o which_o i_o stand_v accountable_a as_o aforesaid_a other_o than_o such_o or_o to_o such_o value_n as_o i_o have_v charge_v myself_o with_o in_o my_o say_a account_n so_o help_v i_o god_n and_o such_o certificate_n together_o with_o such_o oath_n of_o the_o party_n produce_v the_o same_o and_o claim_v arrear_n thereupon_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v be_v a_o

sufficient_a ground_n for_o the_o officer_n and_o other_o authorize_v as_o aforesaid_a to_o proceed_v upon_o in_o the_o state_v of_o all_o and_o every_o the_o say_a account_n respective_o and_o in_o the_o certify_n of_o the_o arrear_n thereupon_o as_o be_v hereafter_o direct_v and_o because_o it_o may_v possible_o fall_v out_o in_o some_o case_n that_o such_o certificate_n as_o aforesaid_a can_v be_v have_v or_o produce_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o death_n of_o some_o or_o refusal_n of_o other_o officer_n from_o who_o such_o certificate_n shall_v be_v have_v or_o by_o their_o be_v disable_v to_o make_v such_o certificate_n either_o through_o their_o defection_n from_o the_o parliament_n cause_v or_o their_o departure_n and_o absence_n out_o of_o the_o land_n or_o else_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o loss_n of_o muster-roll_n or_o certificate_n through_o the_o many_o casualty_n of_o war_n in_o such_o case_n the_o field-officer_n and_o other_o entrust_v with_o the_o state_v of_o account_n as_o aforesaid_a respective_o after_o strict_a enquiry_n into_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o matter_n and_o take_v the_o oath_n of_o the_o party_n concern_v that_o his_o case_n be_v such_o and_o after_o examination_n of_o he_o or_o any_o other_o upon_o oath_n to_o what_o other_o circumstance_n they_o shall_v think_v fit_a to_o satisfy_v themselves_o that_o the_o case_n be_v such_o shall_v or_o may_v admit_v the_o oath_n of_o the_o party_n and_o if_o he_o be_v engage_v for_o ireland_n of_o one_o witness_n or_o otherwise_o of_o two_o lawful_a witness_n take_v either_o before_o the_o say_a officer_n themselves_o or_o before_o any_o justice_n of_o peace_n or_o committee_n and_o from_o he_o or_o they_o certify_v concern_v the_o time_n of_o such_o party_n service_n in_o any_o garrison_n or_o other_o army_n then_o the_o say_v new_a model_n and_o concern_v the_o arrear_n due_a to_o he_o for_o the_o same_o as_o a_o sufficient_a evidence_n to_o proceed_v upon_o and_o state_n his_o account_n and_o certify_v his_o arrear_n for_o the_o same_o the_o party_n himself_o make_v oath_n also_o to_o such_o other_o question_n &_o thing_n concern_v the_o truth_n of_o his_o account_n as_o be_v afore_o in_o other_o case_n direct_v and_o for_o the_o better_a discovery_n of_o the_o truth_n in_o or_o concern_v any_o such_o account_n as_o aforesaid_a the_o say_a field-officer_n and_o other_o entrust_v in_o this_o service_n be_v hereby_o authorize_v to_o administer_v a_o oath_n or_o oath_n to_o all_o and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n with_o who_o they_o shall_v have_v to_o do_v in_o relation_n to_o the_o state_v of_o any_o the_o account_n in_o all_o such_o case_n and_o concern_v such_o matter_n or_o thing_n where_o any_o oath_n be_v require_v or_o direct_v as_o aforesaid_a and_o all_o officer_n of_o war_n muster_v master_n secretary_n auditor_n treasurer_n accomptant_n &_o other_o person_n whatsoever_o that_o now_o have_v or_o former_o have_v relation_n to_o the_o affair_n of_o the_o late_a war_n be_v hereby_o require_v upon_o request_n of_o any_o officer_n or_o soldier_n concern_v and_o address_v himself_o to_o they_o or_o upon_o request_n under_o the_o hand_n of_o any_o the_o field-officer_n or_o other_o entrust_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v testify_v under_o their_o hand_n and_o seal_n according_a to_o their_o best_a knowledge_n any_o thing_n within_o their_o cognizance_n that_o may_v further_o or_o conduce_v to_o the_o better_a ascertain_v of_o the_o say_a account_n or_o any_o of_o they_o and_o it_o be_v further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o after_o the_o say_v account_n or_o any_o of_o they_o so_o take_v and_o examine_v as_o aforesaid_a the_o respective_a field-officer_n and_o other_o entrust_v therewith_o shall_v state_n the_o say_a account_n several_o make_v deduction_n for_o what_o the_o respective_a account_n shall_v appear_v to_o be_v chargeable_a with_o towards_o satisfaction_n of_o the_o seveal_v arrear_n so_o claim_v and_o also_o defalkation_n for_o freequarter_n according_a to_o the_o instruction_n prescribe_v by_o ordinance_n of_o parliament_n bear_v date_n the_o 24_o of_o december_n 1647._o and_o shall_v thereupon_o make_v computation_n of_o what_o remain_v in_o arrear_n to_o any_o such_o officer_n or_o soldier_n for_o any_o such_o service_n as_o aforesaid_a several_o and_o upon_o and_o according_a to_o the_o account_n so_o state_v shall_v make_v a_o list_n or_o list_n of_o the_o name_n of_o the_o several_a officer_n and_o soldier_n who_o account_n they_o have_v so_o sentence_n to_o lose_v his_o arrear_n shall_v have_v any_o benefit_n by_o this_o act_n or_o of_o any_o security_n give_v for_o such_o arrear_n provide_v also_o that_o none_o who_o have_v desert_v their_o colour_n in_o that_o service_n for_o which_o they_o claim_v any_o such_o arrear_n without_o licence_n and_o due_a discharge_n from_o some_o commission-officer_n under_o who_o they_o serve_v respective_o shall_v have_v any_o benefit_n of_o this_o act_n or_o of_o any_o security_n as_o to_o the_o arrear_n claim_v in_o that_o particular_a service_n and_o it_o be_v also_o provide_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o officer_n or_o soldier_n whatsoever_o who_o have_v revolt_v from_o the_o parliament_n and_o turn_v to_o the_o enemy_n or_o after_o any_o disband_n or_o discharge_v from_o the_o parliament_n service_n go_v to_o serve_v the_o enemy_n against_o the_o parliament_n shall_v have_v any_o benefit_n of_o this_o act_n or_o of_o any_o security_n plunder_v the_o country_n or_o any_o cozenage_n to_o the_o state_n or_o that_o have_v revolt_v from_o the_o parliament_n and_o engage_v in_o the_o enemy_n service_n after_o he_o have_v serve_v the_o parliament_n shall_v be_v accept_v as_o sufficient_a evidence_n for_o any_o arrear_n claim_v thereupon_o unless_o the_o certificate_n be_v make_v before_o such_o cashier_n or_o revolt_n provide_v also_o and_o it_o be_v further_o enact_v that_o if_o any_o officer_n or_o soldier_n shall_v make_v procure_v or_o witting_o produce_v a_o false_a certificate_n or_o oath_n concern_v his_o service_n or_o arrear_n in_o the_o state_v thereof_o as_o aforesaid_a to_o the_o prejudice_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n upon_o discovery_n and_o due_a conviction_n thereof_o every_o such_o offender_n shall_v not_o only_o forfeit_v all_o his_o arrear_n if_o any_o remain_v due_a to_o he_o at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o discovery_n but_o shall_v also_o be_v liable_a to_o imprisonment_n and_o sequestration_n be_v not_o part_v of_o the_o march_v army_n in_o the_o say_v new_a model_n and_o also_o the_o account_n of_o such_o other_o force_v not_o in_o garrison_n as_o be_v raise_v and_o employ_v by_o any_o committee_n for_o the_o service_n of_o particular_a county_n and_o not_o take_v into_o the_o general_a establishment_n before_o the_o fifteen_o of_o january_n 1647._o shall_v for_o their_o service_n before_o their_o take_n into_o the_o general_a establishment_n be_v audit_v state_v and_o certify_v as_o aforesaid_a by_o the_o committee_n of_o the_o several_a county_n wherein_o such_o garrison_n
