soldiery_n and_o other_o free_a people_n and_o principal_o your_o cruel_a exercise_n of_o martial_a law_n even_o to_o the_o sentence_n and_o execution_n of_o death_n upon_o such_o of_o your_o soldier_n as_o stand_v for_o the_o right_n of_o that_o engagement_n etc._n etc._n and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o against_o other_o not_o of_o the_o army_n we_o can_v but_o look_v upon_o your_o defection_n and_o apostasy_n in_o such_o deal_n as_o of_o most_o dangerous_a consequence_n to_o all_o the_o law_n and_o freedom_n of_o the_o people_n and_o therefore_o although_o there_o have_v never_o be_v any_o such_o solemn_a engagement_n by_o the_o army_n as_o that_o of_o june_n 5._o 1647._o which_o with_o your_o excellency_n in_o point_n of_o duty_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v of_o the_o mean_a obligation_n we_o do_v protest_v against_o your_o exercise_n of_o martial_a law_n against_o any_o whosoever_o in_o time_n of_o peace_n where_o all_o court_n of_o justice_n be_v open_a as_o
