of_o affect_v the_o conscience_n this_o only_a the_o body_n of_o subject_n for_o what_o external_n strength_n have_v power_n over_o be_v only_o our_o body_n bodily_a force_n can_v take_v away_o bodily_a thing_n but_o mere_a external_n force_n lay_v no_o such_o internal_a bond_n of_o submission_n upon_o the_o conscience_n if_o a_o man_n fall_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o thief_n or_o pirate_n or_o in_o time_n of_o war_n if_o he_o and_o all_o he_o have_v in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o enemy_n their_o ezternal_a strength_n will_v give_v they_o power_n over_o his_o body_n but_o his_o spirit_n they_o can_v with_o safety_n enough_o to_o their_o person_n there_o must_v be_v authority_n as_o i_o say_v to_o bind_v the_o conscience_n when_o this_o external_n may_v that_o be_v only_o the_o mean_n to_o exercise_v back_o and_o enforce_v authority_n bind_v we_o in_o fear_n for_o external_n interest_n and_o both_o these_o distinct_a effect_n st._n paul_n distinct_o mark_v in_o the_o high_a power_n external_n strength_n be_v not_o authority_n if_o a_o man_n be_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o thief_n or_o pirate_n or_o of_o enemy_n in_o time_n of_o war_n as_o i_o say_v he_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o external_n strength_n but_o yet_o he_o be_v not_o there_o the_o subject_n of_o authority_n for_o no_o man_n pretend_v as_o this_o author_n say_v p._n 34._o that_o theives_n and_o pirate_n have_v god_n in_o that_o court_n he_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o external_n strength_n yet_o i_o think_v no_o wise_a man_n will_v say_v he_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o authority_n and_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n we_o find_v civil_a authority_n separate_v from_o external_n strength_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o it_o be_v authority_n as_o it_o be_v in_o saul_n when_o on_o mount_n gilboa_n he_o flee_v
