A PROCLAMATION Superceding the Monthly Fast after September 1693. WILLIAM and MARY by the Grace of GOD King and Queen of Great-Britain France and Ireland Defenders of the Faith To Macers of Our Privy Council or Messengers at Arms Our Sheriffs in that part conjunctly and severally specially constitute Greeting Forasmuch as by the First Act of the Last Session of this Our Current Parliament a Day of Solemn Fasting and Humiliation was appointed to be observed by all Persons within this Kingdom upon the Third Thursday of every Month until Intimation of forbearance should be made by the Lords of Our Privy Council And We considering the Season of the Year being far spent it may be convenient to supercede the observing the said Fast Day after this Month of September Therefore We with Advice of Our Privy Council do hereby Certifie and give Intimation to all Our Liedges that the said Fast and Humiliation is only to be observed upon the Third Thursday of this current Month of September and to be superceded and forborn for afterward And to the effect Our pleasure in the premisses may be known OUR WILL IS HEREFORE and We Charge you strictly and Command that incontinent these Our Letters seen ye pass to the Mercat-Cross of Edinburgh and whole other Mercat-Crosses of the Head Burghs of the several Shires and Stewartries within this Kingdom and there by open Proclamation make Publication of the Premisses that none pretend ignorance And Ordains these presents to be Printed Given under Our Signet at Edinburgh the seventh day of September and of Our Reign the Fifth Year 1693 Per Actum Dominorum Secreti Concilii In Supplementum Signeti GILB ELIOT Cls. sti Concilii God Save King William and Queen Mary Edinburgh Printed by the Heir of Andrew Anderson Printer to Their Most Excellent Majesties Anno DOM. 1693.
