I 7 R HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE A PROCLAMATION Adjourning the Parliament from the seventeenth of August to the twenty first of October 1686. IAMES by the Grace of GOD King of Great-Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith To Our Lyon King at Arms and his Brethren Heraulds Macers of Our Privy Council Pursevants and Messengers at Arms Our Sheriffs in that part conjunctly and severally specially Constitute Greeting Whereas by the last Act of the second Session of Our present Parliament of this Our Ancient Kingdom the same was Declared Current and Adjourned till the seventeenth Day of August next to come And whereas upon weighty Considerations We have thought fit to delay the Meeting thereof Do therefore with Advice of Our Privy Council Hereby continue the Adjournment of that Our Parliament to the twenty first of October next ensuing the date of these Presents Requiring the Lords Spiritual and Temporal the Commissioners of the several Shires and these from Our Royal-Burghs respectively to Meet the said Day in the usual manner and under the accustomed Certifications And to the end Our Pleasure in the Premisses may be known Our Will is and We Charge you strictly and Command That incontinent these Our Letters seen ye pass to the Mercat-Cross of Edinburgh and other places needful and there in Our Royal Name and Authority by open Proclamation make publication of the Adjournment of Our said Parliament from the said seventeenth Day of August next to come to the said Twenty first Day of October next ensuing the date of these Presents that all persons concerned may punctually attend the same Given under Our Signet at Edinburgh the twenty second day of July 1686. And of Our Reign the second Year Per actum Dominorum Secreti Concilii COL McKENÈœIE Cls. Sti.
