justify_v of_o her_o child_n say_v our_o saviour_n every_o man_n desire_v the_o reputation_n of_o a_o wise_a man_n and_o studious_o avoid_v the_o reproach_n of_o a_o fool_n two_o thing_n speak_v a_o fool_n 1._o to_o observe_v and_o mind_v nothing_o or_o two_o mere_o to_o take_v notice_n of_o thing_n present_a and_o gather_v conclusion_n from_o they_o 2._o thus_o you_o shall_v understand_v the_o lovingkindness_n of_o god_n then_o you_o will_v see_v that_o all_o the_o path_n of_o god_n towards_o his_o church_n be_v mercy_n and_o truth_n truth_n not_o a_o word_n fail_v of_o the_o promise_n and_o mercy_n work_v for_o the_o good_a of_o they_o that_o love_n god_n yea_o thus_o you_o that_o fear_v the_o lord_n shall_v understand_v the_o lovingkindness_n and_o truth_n of_o god_n to_o your_o evermore_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d that_o deceive_v we_o be_v our_o imperfect_a knowledge_n or_o understanding_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o non-acquaintance_n with_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n and_o contrivance_n of_o his_o wisdom_n and_o the_o variety_n of_o those_o
of_o sin_n the_o heart_n of_o sinner_n be_v set_v in_o they_o to_o do_v evil_a because_o judgement_n be_v not_o execute_v speedy_o i_o endeavour_v to_o discourage_v and_o check_v this_o presumption_n in_o my_o former_a observation_n where_o i_o confirm_v to_o you_o that_o by_o how_o much_o the_o more_o slow_o vindicative_a justice_n proceed_v to_o the_o punishment_n of_o sin_n by_o so_o much_o severe_a the_o punishment_n be_v when_o it_o come_v this_o observation_n add_v further_a to_o that_o check_n for_o as_o that_o which_o man_n call_v slackness_n be_v but_o the_o long_a suffering_n and_o patience_n of_o god_n not_o willing_a that_o any_o shall_v perish_v but_o that_o all_o shall_v be_v save_v by_o a_o seasonable_a repentance_n so_o as_o you_o have_v now_o hear_v at_o large_a discourse_v to_o you_o neither_o be_v god_n thus_o long-suffering_a and_o patient_a with_o all_o and_o although_o god_n general_o be_v more_o quick_a with_o those_o sort_n of_o sinner_n which_o i_o have_v specify_v to_o you_o yet_o i_o desire_v you_o to_o observe_v what_o i_o first_o enlarge_v upon_o that_o there_o be_v hardly_o any_o kind_n or_o sort_n of_o sinner_n but_o god_n at_o some_o time_n or_o other_o have_v pick_v out_o some_o or_o other_o of_o they_o to_o make_v they_o example_n of_o his_o severity_n thou_o may_v be_v strike_v dead_a while_o the_o lie_n be_v in_o thy_o mouth_n it_o be_v the_o case_n you_o know_v of_o ananias_n and_o saphira_n thou_o may_v be_v cut_v off_o in_o the_o very_a act_n of_o adultery_n it_o be_v the_o case_n you_o know_v of_o zimri_n and_o cosbi_n encouragement_n to_o the_o service_n of_o god_n especial_o to_o eminent_a act_n and_o suffering_n for_o god_n there_o be_v a_o reward_n for_o righteous_a man_n if_o they_o go_v without_o it_o to_o their_o die_a day_n yet_o they_o shall_v be_v recompense_v in_o the_o generation_n of_o the_o just_a heaven_n will_v pay_v for_o all_o but_o god_n do_v not_o always_o take_v so_o long_a a_o day_n to_o recompense_v they_o many_o have_v a_o reward_n in_o this_o life_n and_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v the_o scripture_n be_v full_a of_o promise_n even_o of_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o this_o life_n to_o godliness_n in_o the_o general_a and_o to_o the_o several_a part_n and_o act_n of_o godliness_n these_o promise_n indeed_o be_v not_o make_v good_a to_o every_o child_n of_o god_n in_o specie_fw-la but_o only_o in_o equivalent_a yea_o transcendent_a mercy_n but_o even_o these_o promise_n be_v make_v good_a to_o many_o and_o they_o may_v be_v thy_o portion_n however_o thou_o shall_v not_o miss_v of_o the_o great_a thing_n particular_o this_o lay_v a_o engagement_n upon_o all_o that_o fear_n god_n as_o god_n call_v they_o to_o it_o and_o give_v they_o advantage_n for_o it_o to_o signalise_v themselves_o by_o eminent_a act_n or_o by_o some_o eminent_a suffering_n such_o you_o have_v hear_v god_n ordinary_o pay_v present_o and_o beside_o that_o eternal_a recompense_n which_o they_o have_v in_o glory_n they_o be_v in_o more_o outward_a and_o sensible_a thing_n or_o in_o more_o inward_a influence_n of_o grace_n recompense_v in_o this_o life_n those_o that_o eminent_o more_o undoubted_o that_o single_a person_n will_v glorify_v god_n but_o the_o government_n as_o of_o particular_a soul_n so_o of_o the_o whole_a church_n be_v upon_o christ_n shoulder_n and_o in_o
