west_n indies_n value_v in_o the_o book_n of_o rate_n at_o 16_o d._n per_fw-la l._n shall_v pay_v for_o the_o say_v former_a subsidy_n 12_o d._n per_fw-la hundred_o weight_n and_o for_o this_o present_a subsidy_n 12_o d._n also_o per_fw-mi hundred_o weight_n and_o no_o more_o xxiv_o after_o 1_o may_n 1697._o no_o cut_v whale-bone_n other_o than_o in_o fin_n only_a shall_v be_v import_v payment_n the_o first_o whereof_o to_o be_v upon_o 2_o may_n 1698._o ccxxxiii_o the_o landlord_n owner_n and_o proprietor_n of_o such_o land_n tenement_n and_o hereditament_n may_v abate_v out_o of_o whole_a sum_n and_o may_v subdivide_v themselves_o so_o as_o two_o or_o more_o be_v appoint_v for_o each_o division_n but_o not_o to_o restrain_v the_o commissioner_n from_o act_v in_o any_o other_o part_n of_o the_o county_n or_o place_n for_o which_o they_o be_v nominate_v commissioner_n ccxxxv_o which_o commissioner_n at_o their_o general_n meet_v shall_v give_v list_n to_o the_o receiver_n general_n of_o those_o who_o be_v to_o act_v in_o each_o division_n which_o commissioner_n in_o their_o several_a division_n shall_v cause_v the_o proportion_n to_o be_v equal_o assess_v and_o shall_v direct_v their_o precept_n to_o such_o inhabitant_n etc._n etc._n as_o they_o shall_v think_v convenient_a to_o be_v presenter_n and_o assessor_n require_v they_o to_o appear_v at_o a_o place_n and_o all_o appeal_v be_v first_o determine_v ccxxxviii_o the_o collector_n shall_v levy_v the_o rate_n so_o assess_v and_o shall_v demand_v the_o same_o of_o the_o party_n themselves_o or_o at_o the_o give_v notice_n of_o his_o deputy_n to_o the_o commissioner_n within_o ten_o day_n after_o the_o first_o general_n meet_v and_o so_o within_o ten_o day_n after_o the_o death_n or_o removal_n of_o any_o deputy_n and_o the_o receipt_n of_o such_o receiver_n general_n or_o his_o deputy_n shall_v be_v a_o discharge_n to_o the_o collector_n who_o shall_v not_o be_v oblige_v to_o travel_v above_o ten_o

say_v commissioner_n shall_v keep_v a_o distinct_a account_n of_o the_o duty_n grant_v by_o this_o act_n and_o pay_v the_o money_n arise_v thereby_o into_o the_o exchequer_n on_o wednesday_n in_o every_o week_n unless_o a_o holiday_n and_o then_o the_o day_n after_o and_o upon_o neglect_n or_o refusal_n shall_v incur_v the_o penalty_n etc._n etc._n as_o other_o the_o officer_n of_o the_o exchequer_n herein_o mention_v shall_v be_v liable_a unto_o which_o money_n so_o pay_v in_o shall_v be_v apply_v to_o pay_v interest_n for_o the_o say_v transport_v debt_n after_o 5_o per_fw-la nor_o any_o tinker_n cooper_n glasier_n plumber_n harness-mender_n or_o other_o person_n trade_v in_o mend_v kettle_n tub_n household_n good_n or_o harness_n from_o go_v about_o and_o carry_v with_o they_o proper_a material_n for_o mend_v the_o same_o cccxcv_o there_o shall_v be_v keep_v in_o the_o office_n of_o the_o auditor_n of_o the_o exchequer_n a_o register_n of_o all_o money_n pay_v in_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n distinct_a from_o all_o other_o money_n cccxcvi_o if_o any_o officer_n in_o the_o exchequer_n shall_v divert_v any_o of_o the_o money_n pay_v in_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n he_o shall_v forfeit_v his_o office_n be_v incapable_a of_o any_o place_n of_o trust_n and_o shall_v pay_v treble_a the_o value_n of_o the_o sum_n so_o divert_v to_o the_o person_n grieve_v who_o will_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o the_o court_n of_o record_n at_o westminster_n and_o all_o order_n for_o dispose_v the_o money_n to_o be_v raise_v by_o this_o act_n contrary_a to_o the_o meaning_n thereof_o shall_v be_v void_a cccxcvii_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o hinder_v any_o person_n from_o sell_v any_o sort_n of_o good_n or_o merchandize_n in_o any_o public_a mart_n market_n or_o fair_a within_o this_o kingdom_n cccxcviii_o if_o the_o several_a duty_n and_o imposition_n grant_v to_o his_o majesty_n by_o several_a act_n of_o parliament_n towards_o the_o money_n raise_v by_o this_o or_o the_o say_v recite_v act_n may_v pay_v to_o the_o say_a commissioner_n to_o be_v appoint_v pursuant_n to_o this_o act_n their_o clerk_n and_o other_o such_o sum_n as_o they_o may_v reasonable_o deserve_v for_o their_o service_n or_o may_v have_v expend_v in_o or_o about_o this_o or_o the_o say_v recite_v acts._n cccc_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o give_v power_n for_o the_o licens_v any_o hawker_n pedlar_n or_o petty-chapman_n to_o sell_v or_o expose_v to_o sale_n any_o ware_n or_o merchandize_n in_o any_o city_n borough_n town_n corporate_a or_o
